MIA for Good Cause

Mon Apr 27, 2009, 2:26 PM
  • Mood: Suffering
  • Listening to: Own Music for Editing
  • Reading: Biography of Tchaikovsky
  • Watching: Higurashi TV Series
  • Playing: Persona 4
  • Eating: Not a lot, watching my girlish figure.
  • Drinking: Singapore Slings and 3 Wise Men
Sorry I have been MIA. For the most part my life is in overdrive: I am commissioned to work on a work for childrens songs, I am composing my second film score, and I am engaged.

For the most part my music has kept me VERY busy and my dealings with that have been hard since my main CPU exploded in a powersurge a few weeks ago so my laptop is my only escape. But shit happens and I am slowly dealing with it while I have building plans for a new rig to do far more than my old one could.

I am doing a second film score, yes this rumor shall be confirmed, though I have not seen the footage yet I have recieved character bios for me to read through and then start my motifs from there. I personally most likely will not be actually composing the music for it till mid August since it is still being shot so I sit on my hands in waiting while I work on my other commissions and other works that are awaiting publication through my editor.

M and I have popped and answered the BIG question, which you should know what that is if you keep up with my IM's (whenever I am ACTUALLY on anymore lol, so busy.) We are looking at two wedding ideas since both of our families are VERY different, mine being non-religious and hers being Muslim. So my folks have no problem with a Muslim wedding but my EXTENDED family might. So we are looking at two cerimonies in hopes that these two families don't clash. I am sure my extended family would not cause any problems but they are Catholic and might find a single Muslim wedding to be insulting. I think they are seriously fools for thinking that way but it was M's idea to have two weddings to make sure everyone can go. We have not picked a date yet as we are doing the budget for how much this is gonna cost and who we can pay for travel-wise and who we could ask to come out on their own finances. But this wedding stuff is complicated and so far becoming an enormous amount of work. But I must admit I like doing this because M and I seem to enjoy figuring this out. ;)

Anyway, my life is having its ups and downs right now and I am trying to get it all smoothed out with a clothing iron. My book (the first chapter is available on my DevArt) might be getting published. M's sister is setting me up with a meeting for her husband who publishes (normally) historical poetry and the like but I sent him the book and he is eager to see me about some editorial things and such as well as looking into being added to a book he is going to publish called "American Poetry- Our Artists in Residence" so I might have some added in there. I hope you all are doing well and that things are looking on the brighter side of life. TTYL b^^

Have you ever had some one ask you to describe a color? Well listening to your music i think you could. I have never listend to a peice so vivid and enticing. It starts off subtle yet i never lost focus and i was left wanting to listen to more. You sir are a modern day master. I have listened to various different composeres, and I must say that that was simply the most amazing peice. I Hope you go far with your music, and I hope all endevors that you choose in life will come true. Good luck my friend, and thank you for showing my jsut how amazing this world we live in can really be.
If any one reads this, and is able to get ahold of this peice of music do so. I have never been so moved or touched by a piece such as this. As i said before i Believe that through this music, This man could describe that which we dream of. The best of luck Nick.

Very powerful comment NC, I really am at a loss for words, but I guess to say subtly, this is why I am a published composer of classical music.

It is not about fame or kudos. It is about the beauty of the heart and mind and to put it into a form that could be received and understood through more then just words.

Music is everlasting and I want the world to feel what I feel when I compose, or at least reminisce on those feelings.
If I can make someone cry because of The Tragic Symphony, I did my job. Thank you for you wonderful comment.

If anyone else is interested in hearing my music they have but to ask.

When you say that you don't write the music for fame or music, i think thats what makes it so good. I have seen people do write and draw, and there own original work is always better when they do it purely for the fan, and not for fame.

Blood flows from this pen
Tears blend with these words
Because lips don't dare utter
What burns on these vocal cords
